In 2012, one1seven church raised $3800 on Denarius Day (20th November) by each giving up one day's wage to give to a cause. This year, we're sending support to the famine relief appeal for the Horn of Africa. And we're taking the Federal Government up on its offer to match our donation dollar for dollar.

We're thanking God for the generosity of our congregation and the blessings we so often take for granted living in Australia.

In November we have a month of mission related activities in one1seven church.

• 5th Nov.         Jazz for Soup – To raise funds for our local mission activity, 'One4Food'
• 6-12th Nov.    CMS Missionaries (Mike & Caroline Clark) will visit one1seven for the week
• 13th Nov.       International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church 
• 20th Nov.       Denarius Day Offertory – funds raised will go to Kenya
• 27th Nov.       Abolitionist Sunday – Viorica’s mission work to end slavery in Greece

The Horn of Africa is in the grip of the worst drought and famine to hit the region for half a century. 1.5 million lives are at serious risk right now with an estimated 9 million at risk over the next 18 months.

“Don’t waste your Life” is the headline to John Piper’s conference ‘One’ which is being held later this month at the Entertainment Centre.

This morning we heard that the well loved British Anglican Theologian - John Stott - passed away last night and has now gone to glory with our Lord and Saviour - Jesus Christ.
