Joining one1seven Church

Everyone is welcome to attend one1seven church in search of God’s truth and it is our pleasure having people join with us to worship Jesus. But Christians, saved by the blood of Jesus, are also called to belong to a church family where they use their spiritual gifts to serve others.

God wants us to mature with Christian friends who can love us, support us and encourage us in our service of Christ. So if you have recently accepted Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, or you are a long term Christian who is new to our church, we really want one1seven to become your spiritual home. This involves:'

1. Prayerfully deciding whether you agree with the one1seven church mission and whether God wants you to join our church. We understand that this may take some time.

2. Expressing your desire to join one1seven church to one of the leaders or filling in the appropriate section on one of our visitor’s card when you are ready.

3. Meeting with a pastor or church leader

a. If you are new to Christianity, we will do a short 7 week course with you called “Just for Starters” and we will discuss the suitability of Christian baptism to help you understand what it means to follow Jesus.

b. If you are already a Christian we will meet with you over a coffee to answer any questions you may have about one1seven and to find out how we can best support you during your time with us.

 
4. Being welcomed into one1seven church in one of our regular Sunday services

a. We will ask you to affirm your commitment to Jesus, we will pray for you and we will present you with a Bible containing a copy of the one1seven church covenant.  

b. We will recognise you as a belonging and serving member of one1seven church.

We pray and hope that you can see the value in belonging to one1seven church instead of just attending the services.
